From water bottles to fast fashion conglomerates, our society is continually disposing itself. And as with every mega trend comes an anti-trend. The anti-trend for disposability? sustainability. Yet, while we typically associate sustainability with an eco-friendly lifestyle, the latest trends offer a fresh interpretation of timelessness.The timeless trend is an anti-trend to our throw away culture and concentrates on what we call The Quill Pen Mindset. Before the invention of the disposable ballpoint pen, pens were bought as an investment and used for the entirety of ones life. Both a statement and a necessity, the quill pen is the symbolic direction in which we are headed. There is a growing concern for quality and detail, and with the state of the economy, it makes more sense to invest in one timeless product that will last, than multiple cheap items that break and wear down. As with any poor economy, priorities shift. At first, the shift went to more for less. Today, it is now transitioning to less for more.
